Warped Tour 2010 Synopsis/Vlog!

So, I didn’t get my booth at Warped this year for JJ solely based on the fact that I’m an idiot and e-mailed Warped way too late. Basically, I was just in Charlotte for three days with my good friend, Mary (Follow her @MariaEdwardo). We met up with our friends: Aly A., Grace, Lance. Oh, and Mrs. Avina of course! We all went out for Mrs. Avina’s birthday at Dave & Buster’s and gamed it up in the arcade room. Favorite game: SUPER TRIVIA! It’s also the Jurassic Park game, always will be, but that one doesn’t give you tickets.



So, after a night of gaming, me and Mary went back to her brother’s apartment where I sat and worked on more necklaces to advertise and give out at Warped the next day. We both ended up going to sleep at like 2:30am and I set my alarm for about 7:15am so I could finish working on everything. We left and got to the venue at around 9:30am.



So, if you’ve ever been to Warped, or any other show for that matter, people are always going to come up to you and try to convince you to buy their CDs and EPs and what have you. This fellow above, Brett from Uh Oh! Explosion, comes up to us and has us listen to his CD, we do, and we like what we hear. And of course, I tell him about JJ and about sponsoring bands, then he offered to give me the CD since I’m bout to sponsor them and all! Super nice guy, too. He’s wearing the mustache necklace above.

Then, Johnny from Uh Oh! Explosion came up to us telling us that Brett had told him about the jewelry and wanted to thank me. He really liked the dream catcher necklace and this is how the conversation went:

Me: Here, now we match!
Johnny: It’s like we’re boyfriend and girlfriend!
Me: Except, I kind of already have a boyfriend.
Johnny: Yeah, well I kind of already have a fiance.

Haaahahahaha. It was just really funny at the moment, he also told me “You have really nice lips.” Sorry if I make you feel awkward, Johnny. It was just the quote of the day.



Me and Mary decided to go straight to Jac Vanek’s tent. Last year, I really wanted to tell her about JJ and give her some necklaces, but I was too scared hahaha. Let me tell you though, I really, really admire Jac and what she does and she’s such an inspiration to me how she started her business off and how she’s been selling on Warped and Bamboozle. It’s all just exactly what I want to do with JJ one day, you know, tour and stuff. So, I had e-mailed Nicole Buckley earlier this year about sending them some necklaces, but I figured it’d be better to give them some things personally from the summer line.



I’m just standing there because I wanted to get a ‘FEARLESS’ bracelet from her, and she’s like “I love your necklace!” and I’m all “Oh thanks! I made it actually!” and she’s all “No way!” So, we go through that whole ‘Yeah I have my own business of handmade jewelry’ shpeel. Jac seriously loved my dream catcher necklace, so I gave her one, Nicole one, and another one of her friends one. When I reminded Nicole that I e-mailed her she was like “Oh yeah your shit’s so cute!” It was cool because we talked for about 10 minutes and she was telling me how it’s hard to get on Warped as a vendor and whatnot and how I just have to e-mail on time and thought it was cool that I started JJ when I was 15 and everything. Oh! And she let me pick out a free bracelet, so that was really, really nice of her. Of course, I got my ‘FEARLESS’ one.



I can honestly say that Jac and Nicole are so incredibly nice! It was a really great way to start off Warped.  Jac was all “Come back later if you’re bored and hang out with us!” But everytime we passed her tent, she wasn’t there. But whatever, that’s okay!

You may or may not know this, but you should, my friend Aly has her own musical interview project kind of thing, it’s called Aly’s Underground Rockshow. She interviewed Jac and before the interview she was all “Hey! My friend made that!” and Jac “Aww she’s so cute, I love her!” and Nicole was all “Hey I have one too!” And apparently she talked to Aly’s mom about me and Aly 2 after the interview, I don’t remember what they said though. Bottom line, Jac and Nicole are so nice and down to earth. Check out Aly 2’s interview with Jac on her show linked above!

I met Tay Jardine of We Are The In Crowd (www.myspace.com/wearetheincrowd), good friend of Love, Robot (www.myspace.com/loverobotli) and gave her a dream catcher necklace as well.



She was really nice and wore it on stage during their set which was great by the way!

Me and Mary won this contest to watch Breathe Carolina from backstage. That was amazing, they’re so good live. Not going to lie, I was really surprised with how good it was. We met David and Kyle afterward and I gave him the Tumblr necklace.



I also met Sierra from Versa Emerge (www.myspace.com/versaemerge). And I basically told her that Jac thought I should give her a dream catcher necklace cause she’d really like it. And she was like “Oh yeah I saw that on Jac!” or “Oh yeah Jac showed me!” I don’t remember what she said, but either way, I thought it was cool hahaha.



We ended the night by handing out flyers at the end of Warped, dinner at Applebee’s, and passing out once we got back to the apartment. The main point of this lengthy post: Warped ‘10 was successful and I WILL have a booth next year. It has to happen.
